What’s Included in the Free* Installation?
Here’s a step-by-step overview of what our free installation service entails:
Preparation
To get started, we request you should prepare your lawn by ensuring it’s clear of debris, toys, tools, and other obstacles. Next, you should cut the grass using a regular mower to ensure it’s short and ready for the perimeter wire installation. The grass should be no longer than 10mm for optimal results.
Plan the Layout of the Perimeter Wire
We will discuss the best location for your charging station. It needs to be:
- Flat and stable.
- Easily accessible from all angles.
- Close to a power outlet.
After deciding on the charging station’s placement, we map the most efficient route for the perimeter wire, if we are installing a wired machine. This includes creating “islands” around obstacles like flower beds to ensure your mower avoids non-mow areas.
Position the Station and Lay the Perimeter Wire
We carefully lay the perimeter wire at a suitable distance from the edges of the area you want mowed. There are two options for wire installation:
- Flat on the ground: The wire is laid on the grass, and it will naturally become hidden as the grass grows.
- Inserted into the ground: Using a specialist machine, we bury the wire into a slit in the ground for a seamless finish.
The perimeter wire is installed to create islands around any obstacles and define the cutting area, ensuring smooth operation of your robotic mower.
Charge and Programme Your Robotic Mower
Once the perimeter wire is in place, we position your Honda Miimo in the charging station and allow it to fully charge. Depending on the model, this takes 1-2 hours. After reaching a minimum of 50% charge, we programme the mower according to your preferences, including:
- Cutting times.
- Frequency of mowing.
- Desired cutting height.
