The Stihl MS 400.1 C-M Petrol Chainsaw sets new standards in the 60cc class. It is a complete redevelopment of the MS 400, designed for forestry professionals who need the best balance of power, torque, and handling.

Weighing just 5.5 kg, it is 300 g lighter than the MS 400 yet it still produces 3.9 kW of power. This gives the MS 400.1 the best power-to-weight ratio of any 60cc petrol chainsaw on the market. With 4.3 Nm of torque, it is less pressure-sensitive and resists bogging down in large timber. Combined with Stihl M-Tronic technology, it also offers reliable starting, fast acceleration, and consistent performance in all conditions.

The saw has been redesigned for comfort and control. A larger magnesium flywheel and improved muffler help keep the engine cool. The revised rear handle provides a more secure grip and rests comfortably on the leg for plunge cutting. In addition, a rib pattern underneath the saw prevents bark and twigs catching during snedding.

A new HD2 air filter offers better protection in dusty conditions and reduces maintenance. The oil pump system lets you adjust oil flow with a combi-spanner, and the petrol tank includes a 50% marker to track fuel levels easily. Captive nuts on the sprocket cover prevent loss during chain changes.
