Powered by a high-performance lithium-ion battery, the iMOW 5 provides efficient and continuous mowing over long working periods. It features three free-swinging, extra-sharp blades that deliver a precise cut while rotating regularly to extend blade life. As a mulching mower, it finely chops grass clippings and returns them to the lawn as a natural fertiliser, removing the need to empty a grass collection box. Because it cuts little and often, clippings decompose quickly, leaving a healthy, green lawn.

The iMOW 5 is controlled via the MY iMOW app, giving you full control from your smartphone. You can start or stop mowing, return the mower to its docking station, adjust the cutting height automatically, create or change mowing plans and check the current status of the mower. The app connects via your home WiFi network where available or via Bluetooth when you are close to the machine.

Installation uses a thin perimeter wire laid or buried around the edge of your lawn and around obstacles such as trees, flower beds or water features, with a guide wire helping the mower find its way back to charge. Built-in sensors detect objects in its path, causing the mower to slow down, gently change direction and continue mowing safely. You can install the iMOW 5 yourself using guided instructions in the MY iMOW app, with installation kits available separately to suit your garden size, or choose professional installation through a Stihl Approved Dealer for more complex layouts.

You can create a flexible mowing schedule to suit your lifestyle or send the mower out manually whenever you wish. Thanks to its exceptionally quiet operation, it can mow while you relax in your garden without disruption. Rain sensors allow you to decide whether mowing continues in wet weather or resumes once conditions improve. When mowing is complete or the battery runs low, the iMOW 5 automatically returns to its weather-proof docking station to recharge, ready for the next session.
