Be Aware – As the UK moves to E10 fuel in September 2021 containing 10% bioethanol as standard on the forecourts (previously E5 with 5% bioethanol was the standard), this means that now could be a very good time to consider switching to Aspen.

Ethanol is an alcohol-based fuel produced from the fermentation of a range of plants, including sugarcane and grains, along with their by-products. Whilst it is a cleaner fuel releasing less carbon dioxide during fuel production and combustion, it is known to cause corrosion and attract water in small petrol engines.

Aspen alkylate fuel is made from the cleanest form of petrol available – alkylate petroleum. It is virtually free from sulphur, benzene and solvents, and contains significantly fewer toxic hydrocarbons that regular fuel.

This means that it is good for the environment and good for you too! Breathing in much cleaner air with minimal odour when working reduces the chance of fume-related headaches.

Aspen fuel is also ethanol-free, unlike regular unleaded petrol, and ethanol is known to be harmful to small petrol engines by causing corrosion to components and potential blockages in your carburettor.
